Second day out for this self-assignement about memory and Soul of the Earth and humus...
Within the "Fire & Shadow" program, after our wild retreat in Scotland, we meet in virtual groups to elaborate and keep alive, act and put to the reality test of our daily lives whatever we brought back from that experience lived there. In our little sub-group, we thought of some kind of assignement to help us keep that experience alive while serving a personal question or quest or change or task born from that week... So we gave ourselves this assignement : " How do we keep that experience alive...? How can memory be fed to keep it with us? What do we feed our memory with? And if the food is good, can we share it?"
With this idea in mind I returned to the forest again...
I sit quietly
Then Nature starts breathing, slowly
I am a stump of wood
with eyes and ears and nose
And my hand is a slow moving tree branch
reaching for brittle tree shoots
The sun is showing me humble subjects
With rays of sunshine through the cracks in the roof of leaves
I'm at the humus level
Humus strangely is related to Homo in indo-european language
Could this be where Earth and Human merge?
Could this be where this artificial separation dies?
Wonders in humility
I reach to my camera and follow the sun's invitation to look
Here and there
That's how i feed my memory of there in the Highlands, here today
